Zhiheng Lyu (a former Ph.D. student) recently accepted a faculty position at The University of Alabama.

Minghao Xie (a former Ph.D. student) recently accepted a position at Argonne National Laboratory, Lemont, IL.

Siyu Zhou (a former Ph.D. student) recently received the 2025 GT Sigma Xi Best Ph.D. Thesis Award.

Seth Kinoshita, an undergraduate student in the Xia group since 2023, recently received the President's Undergraduate Research Travel Award offered by Georgia Tech.

Dr. Xia was recently elected to the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). He will be formally inducted at the 14th NAI Annual Conference to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 23-25, 2025.

Seth Kinoshita, an undergraduate student in the Xia group since 2023, recently received the full-ride Stamps Scholarship offered by Georgia Tech.

Dr. Xia has been selected to receive the 2024 Linus Pauling Medal Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to chemistry that merit national and international recognition. A symposium will be held in the weekend of October 12 on the campus of Oregon State University.

Siyu Zhou (a former Ph.D. student) recently received the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad.

Emily Yan, an undergraduate student in the Xia group since 2022, recently received the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award. She will teach English in Taiwan for the 2024-25 year before deferring & coming back to Georgia Tech for her master’s degree in 2025-26.

Quynh Nguyen passed her final exam (thesis defense) and became the 39th Ph.D. from the Xia group on 6/19/2024. She will be working as a R&D scientist at Intel in Oregon.

Jacob Jeskey passed his final exam (thesis defense) and became the 38th Ph.D. from the Xia group on 3/1/2024. He will work as a R&D chemist for Milliken in Gainesville, FL.

Siyu Zhou passed her final exam (thesis defense) and became the 37th Ph.D. from the Xia group on 2/29/2024. She is doing Postdoc at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Veronica Pawlik passed her final exam (thesis defense) and became the 36th Ph.D. from the Xia group on 12/4/2023. She is working for Bakelite Synthetics now .

Quynh Nguyen, a Ph.D. student in the Xia Group since 2020, recently received the Herbert P. Haley Fellowship for the 2023-2024 academic year at Georgia Tech.

Chenxiao Wang passed his final exam (thesis defense) and became the 35th Ph.D. from the Xia group on 7/12/2023. He will be working for ASM America at Phoenix, Arizona.

Jacob Jeskey, a Ph.D. student in the Xia Group since 2020, recently received the William Emerson Outstanding Research Award at the CHEM Graduate Student Research Symposium at Georgia Tech.

Quynh Nguyen, a Ph.D. student in the Xia Group since 2020, recently received the Sofia and William Starnes Graduate Research Travel Award Fellowship at the CHEM Graduate Student Research Symposium at Georgia Tech.

Emily Yan, an undergraduate student in the Xia group since 2022, recently won the 2nd Place Prize for a Poster Presentation at this year’s Undergraduate Research Symposium organized by the College of Engineering. She really appreciates the guidance from her mentor, Yidan Chen.

Dr. Xia has been selected as the winner of Outstanding Achievement in Research Innovation 2023 award at Georia Tech.
